According to the U.S. Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) has released the 2011 annual U.S. solar market trend reports, in the year 2011, the U.S. solar photovoltaic installation totaled level of 2 million kilowatts, solar water heater which commercial installation totaled 880,000 kilowatts, public utilities installation totaled 760,000 kilowatts. The two installed capacity compared to the scale of 2010, an increase of 132% and 145%, respectively. In addition, the house with total installed also showed continued growth, but the growth rate is slow, solar collector compared to 2010 increased by only 24%.
The report also pointed out that the solar power system installed in the next few years, the public utilities in the United States will continue to show significant growth. It is understood that there are more than 2.4 million kilowatts, the project is in the planning stage. Some of these projects have been assigned to the development and distribution contracts; others in the "high risk" category, is still waiting for the power purchase agreement or project financing, and ultimately decide which projects targeted by the federal government and state policy. Currently, every state in the United States has a considerable scale solar power generation level, but California and New Jersey will continue to dominate the U.S. market photovoltaic installation.
